Our adult education classes are an informal way to pursue an interest, or to brush up on existing skills, or develop new skills. They cannot be taken as part of a degree course and do not carry an ECTS.
Imperial offers a range of opportunities for students to develop their enterprising knowledge and skills within the curriculum, through student societies and competitions.
The Department has state-of-the-art laboratories, including ‘wet labs’ for cell culture, chemistry, histology, flow studies, biosensors and electrophysiology, biomaterials, molecular biology, and high throughput biological screening; as well as ‘dry labs’ for modelling, electronics, motion capture, imaging, 3D printing and mechanics.
The Department's research was rated 95% world leading or internationally excellent in the most recent research excellence framework (REF). The Department has six main research themes.
The Department has great links with industry. Through the Industrial Liaison Manager, the students can gain experience in industry through placements and internships out of term time.
